The following will be the basis for a proposed amendment change to item IV, sub-item b, sub-item ix of the By-Laws of the Dakota Boosters.
Credits will now be equated with a dollar value.
The corresponding dollar value will be determined using the following formula.
Start with the previous year’s revenue from all Booster sponsored events.
Minus the previous year’s cost of purchases for the Booster sponsored events. (This is equal to the Booster’s profit.)
Minus 25% of Booster’s profit. This will allow for lower receipts. If this number is too high, the dollar value will be adjusted accordingly at the end of the school year.
Minus $12,500.00 for repeated requests (Scholarships, SANP, Prom,…)
This resulting amount will be divided by the number of volunteer opportunities available for the school year.
The volunteering opportunities are as follows:
Craft Show: 150 volunteers
Football: 125 volunteers
Basketball: 45 volunteers
Soccer: 55 volunteers
Track: 25 volunteers
TOTAL: 400 VOLUNTEERS
The above formula will be used to figure the dollar value per credit.
Credits will only be earned by working a Booster sponsored event (concessions, craft show).
Any excess/reserve will be used for academic/facility/administration requests.
The Boosters asks that the donation requests be presented prior to the credits being earned.
The credits will be able to be ‘rolled over’ twice, where the money earned would have to be spent in the third year.
A report will be provided monthly with the monies earned by each organization.
Based on 2010 receipts, a credit in the 2010/11 school year would be worth $34.21.
EXAMPLE:
2009/10 Receipts: $60,822.00
Minus 2009/10 Concession/Craft Show Expenses: $25,907.00
Profit for 2009/10 School Year: $34,915.00
Minus 25% for potentially lower receipts: $ 8,728.75
Minus $12,500 for repeated requests:: $12,500.00
Monies available for donation requests: $13,686.25
Divide by 400 credits available: $34.21
