Choir – Mr. Todd Moses, Director
This past weekend was a successful production of Anything Goes featuring many of Dakota’s talented students.
On Friday, March 18, 2011, forty-six members from Dakota’s choir program traveled to Avondale High School in Auburn Hills, Michigan for MSVMA’s State Solo & Ensemble Festival. This is after they ALL earned top ratings at District Festival in order to qualify for this prestigious event. The students participated in 3 large ensembles and 3 solo events. The Varsity Ensemble received a “2nd Division” rating and both the Freshman and Concert Ensembles received “1st Division” ratings. All three groups received great compliments from the judges. Two of our soloists also received “1st Division” ratings while the third received a “2nd Division” rating.
Congratulations to Dakota’s Choirs on a terrific job at MSVMA’s District Choral Festival. Concert Choir received a BLUE/Excellent rating; Freshman Choir received a GOLD/Superior rating, which makes them the first DHS freshman group to ever score at the Superior level; and Varsity Choir received a GOLD/Superior rating, with PERFECT scores from all 3 performance judges. This qualifies all three choirs for State Choral Festival in May.
