Fine Arts Report – February 2011 

Band – Ms. Risa Hsu, Director

• The annual band fundraiser, Dancing with the Stars, was held in January and had great attendance and raised over $6000.00 for the band program.
• Earlier this month, Dakota band and choir students attended district solo and ensemble.  Dakota bands came home with 40 events receiving a 1^st division rating and 15 events receiving a 2^nd division rating.
• Wednesday, February 16^th is the band Pre-Festival concert at 7pm in the Dakota auditorium.
• Dakota will be co-hosting the district MSBOA Band Festival with CVHS on March 11^th and 12^th. 
• Dakota will be hosting MSBOA Honors Band – March 19^th – 22^nd.
• STORM, the Dakota Winter Guard team has been practicing and preparing for competition in the Michigan Color Guard Circuit. 
• The DHS Drum Line is also preparing for competition and has field day exhibition this weekend.
