Fine Arts Report – March 2011

Band – Ms. Risa Hsu, Director

• Dakota co-hosted the district MSBOA Band Festival with CVHS this past weekend.

Dakota bands received the highest ranking of 1. Over the two days, there were fifteen

visiting bands from area high schools performing here at Dakota.

• Dakota will be hosting MSBOA Honors Band – March 19th – 22nd.

• STORM, the Dakota Winter Guard has been competing in the Michigan Color Guard

Circuit and just had several members compete in solo events at Farmington Hills High

school ranking as high as second place. They have team competition this weekend at

Chippewa Valley High School and will participate in State competition April 2nd at

Saginaw Valley High School.

Choir – Mr. Todd Moses, Director

• 50 choir members attended the MSVMA District Solo & Ensemble Festival on February

4th and each event received a first division rating. Students are qualified to compete at

the state level this month.
