Band              Ms. Risa Hsu -   Director

 

October 2006

October 4, MSBOA Festival—Congratulations t the Marching Band for receiving a 1st Division rating. 

October 7—the marching band participated in the Columbus Day parade in Clinton Township. 

October 11 and 12—scrapbook items for Dakota sports, fine arts, clubs, etc. will be on sale during evening conference.  This is a fundraiser for the band.

Upcoming Events:

November—Fruit Sale kick-off.

November 24—Holiday Parade in Grosse Point—Come out and support the Cougar Marching Band! 

December 7—Holiday Concert in the auditorium. 

 

 

 

 

Choir              Mrs. Sue Catanese – Director

 

October 2006

October 9 Cabaret rehearsal 2:30-5:30 p.m.

October 10 Carbaret Concert 7:00 p.m.  the choir will perform music selections from pop, Broadway, and R & B. 

October 13 Regional Honors Choir auditions at Dundee High School. 

October 14—Dakota choir is sending 10 students to the Honors Choir auditions at Dundee High School.  Results will be posted October 20. 

October 17 Cookie Dough fundraiser kick-off. 

October 20 auditions for “Choir Ambassadors” during class time.

            November 20 Cookie Dough delivery in choir room from 2:30-5:30 p.m.

December 10 at 3:00 p.m. the Varsity Choir has been invited again this year to perform with the prestigious Warren Symphony Orchestra.

            Wizard of Oz rehearsals are ongoing through the date of performance

Winter Guard           Mr. Chris Torchala – Director

 

October 2006   

Tryouts for Dakota’s Winter Guard Team, “Storm” will be in mid-November.  Exact dates and times will be on the morning announcements and posted in the band room.
