Fine Arts Report – September 2009
Choir – Mrs. Sue Catanese, Director
Fundraiser – “Best Seat in the House”, fundraiser continues during the football season to sit on the couch in the end zone. Tickets on sale under the bleachers.
This year’s school play is “Seussical – the Musical”. An information meeting was held last week for students.
Auditions for Seussical are Sept. 24th and 25th from 2:30 – 5:30 in the choir room.
Cast list will be posted on Sept 28th and the first read through will be on Sept 29th from 2:30 – 4:30 in the choir room.

Band – Ms. Risa Hsu, Director
Marching band and color guard has been busy since before the last school year ended. Each section had practice sessions during the summer and the entire band participated in pre-camp here at Dakota and went to Central Michigan University for a week of band camp in August.
On September 13th, the marching band and color guard participated in the Good Ol’ Days Parade in Richmond.
This weekend, the marching band and color guard are going to Grand Rapids for a competition
Weekends of Oct. 10th and 17th, the marching band will be participating in their Tag Day fundraiser.
October 13th or 14th the band and guard will be participating in the MSBOA Marching Band Festival – time and location TBD.
October 29th will be the combined band/choir Collage Concert here at Dakota. This was a big hit last year. This performance includes Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band.
