Dakota Booster GENERAL Membership Meeting
April 19, 2010

Stephanie Lange was unable
to attend tonight. The video presentation she was planning on
sharing will be shared next month.
Minutes of the Last General
Membership Meeting have these amendments: The second Mattress fundraiser
by the athletic department will be November 13, 2010. The football game
in Muskegon will be in the 2011-2012 school year. Also, the Sport physical
night is April 27, 2010 and the fee is $20. After these changes
were noted, the minutes were approved by Pricilla (1) and Mary Ann Couto
(2).
Treasurer’s Report:
Checking Balance: $10,413.75
Savings Balance: $ 4,497.01
Donations pending: $ 1,373.99

A. Student Report:
Kelsey read the announcements:
Mattress sale on May 1, 2010 for the athletic department. Girls tennis
is 4/0. Dakota Dance and cheer have 2 separate clinics for those interested
to attend each $15. Seniors check the web sites for scholarships.
Testing out for 2010/2011 check the web site and counselors. Senior
Parent meeting will be held Tuesday, April 20. Mr. Dakota, April 22,
proceeds to go to Relay for Life, $5 pre sale/ $7 at the door. Jr. &
Sr. prom tickets are available after school on April 27 & April
29, $50 per person. On April 28, there will be an early dismissal
at 1:11pm.
B. Administration Report:
Mr. Briningstool shared
with us the Glow Dance was very well attended. Senior Parent meeting
on April 27 will explain commencement and other graduating questions.
AP testing please see Lori Foster. Working with coalitions to
find ways to remind parts to work together to help students make good
choices during this prom and graduation season. Mr. Fusco reminded
us about the Mattress fundraiser on May 1st. Annual Physical
night April 27, the cost is $20. Athletes must have a physical
dated April 15 or later for the 2010/11 school year. JV Tennis
is increasing their success. Baseball won MAC Invitational. John Underwood
spoke to the athletes and talked to them about how it takes your body
14 days to recover from alcohol and 1 year for your body to recover
from one night of loss of sleep.
C. Fine Arts Report
Choir- Performed in State Choir festival.
Band – spring concert is
May 18, Fundraiser at Abeles on May 20, Banquet is June 3. Winter guard
came in 5th place.
D. Service Report
The ecology club is
planning a cleanup on Thursday and will be traveling to Ojibwa to teach
the 2nd and 5th grades about water conservation.
SADD had an assembly last Monday with Jim Rockwell as a guest speaker.
Jim was a drunk driver who almost killed himself when he tried to drive
home drunk after a party at age 16. He has permanent brain damage and
paralysis. They will be holding another Grimm week just before
Prom to remind students to make positive choices. Key club will
be reading to elementary students this week in first grade at Cheyenne
and Ojibwa.
E. Sports Report:
Concessions are closed due
to unforeseen problem. Concessions are a huge source of income for the
boosters. We will be hosting the Track Invitational on May 15.
We are in dire need of volunteers.
CAC-Mary Ann Couto
Mary Ann gave us a brief overview
of the grim budget our district is facing. Everything is on the table
and being looked at for the 2010/11 school year to help cut cost.
In 2016, the drop out age will be raised from 16years old to 18 years
old.
Craft Show
42 applications have been received
for table rentals. We are in need of a co-chair to learn how run
this craft show because this will be the current chairs last year.
The craft show date is November 13, 2010.

Donation Request:
The Junior class requested
$500 for financial help for this years Prom. No vote was needed from
the general membership and was approved by the board.
