Dakota Booster GENERAL Membership Meeting
January 11, 2010
Meeting called to order at 7:08 p.m.
Opening Remarks:
Thank you from the Girls Basketball team for their duffle bags.
Stephanie Lange: Stephanie had several handouts of upcoming events. February 3 is Digital Citizenship and the responsibility that comes with using digital media, March 25 John Underwood will be coming to speak about enhancing athletic performance, and January 22 a reminder of the Lock-in for Life from 9pm-5am, the cost is $10.
Minutes of the last General Membership: were approved by Mary Ann Cuoto (1) and Jackie Burke.
Treasurer’s Report:
Checking Balance $24,220.85 Savings balance $4,496.46
Donations Pending $ 20,457.83

Trustee Reports:
Student: Kelsey shared with us that the ACT Prep will be held January 23 from 8:15-4, $70, 120 students. Senior’s please check the web site for scholarships. Jr’s MISD, MME Prep Jan. 23 & Feb 26, please check their web site for cost. January 18 no school, January 20-22 Exams and ½ days for students. February 6 – Snowcoming, February 15-19 Midwinter break
Mr. Heethuis: January 25, 2nd semester begins. February 23 is the bond election, new handouts specific to Dakota where available. Mr. Briningstool was at the board office for expulsion hearing of 2 students for an altercation that took place prior to the break. There is a possibility of an ID sweep to insure all students are wearing their ID cards. ACT Prep - $70 check with the Guidance Depart. MME – Mid March 10-12.
Fine Arts: Solo ensemble in Grand Rapids, getting ready for the Sussical the Musical and there is a 2pm Saturday Matinee. Band is getting ready for their Dancing with the Stars to be held on February 26.
Clubs: Key Club is collecting pop tabs as a fund raiser.
Sports: Need Volunteers January 15, JV games set up begins at 4:45-5:00, V – need to be there by 6:30.
Craft Show: Applications are on the web site and being mailed out at the end of January
DHS Booster Web Site: updated
Donation Requests: All donation requests are being tabled. We have no money to spend. At the February meeting we will hold a “State of the Boosters” meeting. These are the requests being tabled at this time.

$950 Custodians 4 hand vacs.
Old Business: A question was asked if cell phones are being collected by anyone and recycled as a fund raiser. Yes, NHS is collecting them.
New Business: January 14, 7-9pm, at the Italian American Club, there will be a postcard mail out group if anyone is interested in helping please contact Diane Blain at 723-2242
