Dakota Booster GENERAL Membership Meeting

Meeting started at 7:04 pm

Meeting Minutes from the last General Board meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report:

Savings: $9,464.14 Checking: $25,828.89 Balance: $5,766.07

Donations: $29,526.96

Treasurer’s report was approved.

Administration Report:

• In Lansing, school funding will be cut $125 per student. Staffing next year will remain the same at DHS. No new hiring will take place this year. Class size is will be at 33 students per teacher.
• New policy, no IPODS allowed in the building.
• 8/21 – Senior Cougar Days, 8/22 Sophmore’s (PM), Juniors (AM), 8/23 Freshman.
• May 17-25^th AP testing will take place.
• Upcoming Events: Senior Award night is next Tuesday. Friday, June 1 is Seniors last day, Commencements are June 10^th. June 19^th is last day of school. Thank you for all your support.

Student Report:

Card Board Regatta is Thursday, May 17^th, currently 40 entries.

Fine Arts Report:

Band Pre-camp is June 30^th, and camp is scheduled for 8/5-8/10. On May 4^th band attended the State Festival and received and overall 2 rating.

Service Report:

• Es De Moda is holding a Fashion Show on May 16^th at 7:30 pm
• Key Club will be selling bagels on Friday, May 18th. All proceeds will benefit the charity Operation Give a Hug.
• NHS held a Pennies for Patients fundraiser.

Sports Report:

Sports season is ending; last concession sales will be on May 22^nd.

Craft Show: Scheduled for November 10, 2007. 52 tables sold.

Election of Booster Board Officer’s for 2007-2008 took place. The new elected board for 07/08:

Vice President – Chris Torchala

Treasurer – Karen Zerilli

Secretary – Cathy Pawloske

Donations Trustee - Denise Kujawski

Fine Arts Trustee – Donna Kirchhoff

Service Trustee – Diana Lowe

Sports Trustee’s – Nancy Martens and Bob Meyers

Received thank you’s from Dave Matison for the purchase of the ELMO Visual Presenter and Melissa Belanger for the freshman t-shirts.

The board would like to thank Jean O’Lear for her participation as Service Trustee on the DHS Boosters. And, a thank you to Cathy Bemis for chairing the Board elections.
