Dakota Booster GENERAL Membership Meeting

September 18, 2006

Meeting started at 6:02 pm. There were no minutes to approve.

Opening remarks: Introduction of the newly elected Booster Board Officials.

Treasurer’s Report:
Checking balance is $16,877.60, Savings Balance is $4,308.77.
Donations Pending: $6,000.05.  Balance: $15,186.32
Report was approved by Angie Tisco (1st) and Kim Tochala (2nd)

Administration:  
Nothing reported.  Tom Heethuis was presenting the Administrative Report to the parents at Open House.

Service Report:

q       Scott Carter, 2006 Senior of the Design Technology Department won a Bronze Medal at the SkillsUSA National Championship. Scott was awarded scholarship opportunities and CAD software.

q       Sarah White and Rene Ribant-Amthor will head-up the Junior activities, Junior float, Variety Show and Prom.

q       Quiz Bowl Team – first meeting is scheduled Sept. 19th.

q       SADD – first meeting was Sept. 15th.

q       Peer Mediation Team – first meeting is scheduled Sept. 25th.

Fine Arts Report:
Band - selling Entertainment Books. Homecoming parade is Sept. 29th. Rescheduled the bottle drive, due to inclement weather.  Band selling scrapbook items at the Craft Show.  MSBOA Festival is scheduled for Oct 3rd or 4th. Additional information can be found at the band website www.dakotaband.net

Choir – Auditions for the school musical took place Sept 11 & 12th.  Deadline for Honors Choir was Sept. 15. Auditions for Fall concert is Oct 2. Additional information can be found at the choir website www.dakotachoir.com

Drama – production needs the following items, horse, hot air balloon basket, toy chicks, please contact Ms Lutz at jlutz@cvx.k12.mi.us

Winter Guard – Team “Storm” tryouts are scheduled for mid-November. Additional information can be found at www.mcgc.net

Sports Report:

q       JV and Varsity football, both undefeated.

q       Boy’s soccer record – Varsity 6-5, JV 8-3.

q       Girl’s Basketball record – 3-2

q       Girl’s Tennis – Varsity near perfect record, JV undefeated.

q       Hockey – Tryouts begin Oct. 31.

q       Golf Team – won tournament Sept 18.

Dakota Wear:
Selling Dakota Wear at school events.

Craft Show:
2nd largest event by DHS Boosters. 144 spaces sold, 200 tables available.
